Shelter Island resident Tracy McCarthy brings a long career in operations, business development and event management to Sylvester Manor. For the past 23 years she has worked for Media Ventures, Inc. in Trumbull, CT, a custom publisher that counted companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Perillo Tours and others among its client roster. As President, she moved the traditionally print-focused business into the digital age, managed client relationships, diversified the operations and oversaw the firm's multi-million dollar budget. Additionally, she was the Publisher of Coastal Boating, a start-up publication aimed at the Florida water sports market. She was also the Co-founder of My Time for Me, an event management firm that developed targeted events for women of all ages.
A graduate of the University of Vermont in Recreation Management, Tracy received an MBA from the University of Connecticut. She has been honored with the Woman of Influence Award from the Bridgeport (CT) Regional Business Council and recognized as one of Fairfield County's "40 Under 40" business leaders.
Tracy was elected to the Shelter Island School District's Board of Education in May, 2017 and also serves as Vice-Chair for The Friends of the Shelter Island Library. She is married to Bryan McCarthy, a North Ferry captain. Their daughter, Eliza, attends the Shelter Island School.
