At Sylvester Manor, we believe access to healthy food is a fundamental right, not a privilege. That’s why we’ve extended our Food Access Program beyond its usual July–October season to continue raising farm-fresh eggs and growing vegetables for families in need.
Through our partnership with The Center for Advocacy, Support, and Transformation (CAST), we are making donations right now to families who qualify as very or extremely low income. Recently, CAST has seen a 27% increase in people seeking access to nutritious food compared to this time last year. We believe it’s our responsibility to help, and you can too.
We’re raising $20,000 by the end of Giving Tuesday to feed more Shelter Island families experiencing food insecurity this winter. Our farmers are gleaning fields, growing food in our greenhouses, and collecting eggs, providing fresh, Sylvester Manor grown food to our local community every week.
