second annual cocktail party
at the windmill
Restoration has officially begun! On Friday, July 13, 2018, our 60,000 pound windmill was lifted six feet in the air. Work to stabilize the foundation of the 1810 Dominy Windmill, one of the oldest and most iconic structures on the Sylvester Manor property, is now underway. It is the first time the windmill has moved since it was placed on the property by Cornelia Horsford in 1926. Work will continue into the Fall when the exterior restoration will be complete: repairs to framing, shingling, doors & door jambs, and windows. We anticipate PHASE 1 to be complete by November.
Join us on this important mission to restore, repair and safeguard this structure for future generations.
