Tom has produced concerts on Shelter Island for over two decades, and has been working with Sylvester Manor since 2011. He has used the connections and experience of a musical lifetime to bring some of the nation’s top bands to a variety of venues including the Shelter Island School, Plant and Sing, house concerts right here in the living room and, more recently, the Creekside Concerts on the sprawling Manor lawn. Beginning with the bluegrass super-group Blue Highway in 2011, the
list of eclectic talent continues to grow, mixing established national acts with younger bands on the rise. Tom is dedicated to bringing to the East End the finest in acoustic roots music, including Celtic bluegrass, old-time, Americana and folk.
A retired Culinary Arts educator and professional chef, Tom is also an active musician, working with his wife Lisa Shaw. Together with a cadre of excellent fellow musicians, they play at various venues all over Long Island.
Tom and Lisa have two “harelegger” children, Sara and Adam, born and educated on Shelter Island, and are the proud grandparents of Lucy and Sam.
