I am an urban day Zulu woman. I was born in Soweto, South Africa and grew up experiencing city life in the heart of New York City. It has become more apparent to me over the years that I yearn for something, still unknown to me, that city life does not offer me. In my journey, I have come to Sylvester Manor Educational Farm to experience the empowerment that comes with feeding ourselves and others, the wonder of partnership with creation, and a desire to honor the sacred in nature. I enjoy being an observer, watching things unfold for the first time. I look forward to growing and transforming like the seeds we sow that are in harmony with the order of things as I discover and immerse myself into the culture of this island.
