Katie comes to Sylvester Manor with a passion for connecting people and communities through food, music, and mindful living. She grew up in Nassau County and recieved a degree in Social Work from the University of Vermont. After working as a case manager at a social services angency, Katie decided she wanted to pursue a more sustainable life path, one where she could better care for the health of her body, mind, spirit, and planet! After building community gardens and working on farms in Southold, NY, Puna, Hawaii, and Anchorage, Alaska, Katie is so excited to join the Sylvester Manor team this season, getting back to her roots and learning more about agriculture within the context of a place close to home.
Katie draws her inspiration from her loving, adventurous family, who are spread out around the world living their dreams. The youngest of three and the product of two amazing parents, Katie hopes to follow in the footsteps of her family by continuing to spread love, joy, and vision to those around her.
