Jo-Ann Robotti joined Sylvester Manor in May, 2015, bringing over 30 years of international marketing, writing, facilitation and coaching experience with businesses that range from Fortune 500 companies to non-profit organizations to entrepreneurial ventures
She started her career in brand management then moved on to became vice-president at BrainReserve, the futurist marketing consultancy started by Faith Popcorn, where she was a popular speaker on the company's trend identification process and widely-quoted in the press. She co-founded The Next Group, which specialized in strategic positioning and new product development and then went on to become a start-up partner in several internet-based businesses in the healthcare and apparel industries.
For many years she was a regular contributor to the Shelter Island Reporter, writing on everything from changes in the school curriculum to multi-part features on topics such as tick-borne diseases.
Jo-Ann served on the Board of Trustees of Simmons College for 15 years, chairing the presidential search, marketing and governance committees, among others. She was president of the Board of Trustees of the Shelter Island Public Library, while also advising several non-profit organizations on board composition and governance.
She holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Finance and Management from Simmons College.
