CSA INFORMATION

Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions to help you determine the right CSA option(s) for you. We also strongly encourage you to read through the 2018 CSA Handbook.

How long does the CSA run for? The 2018 CSA will run 21 weeks in full (June 9, 2018 - October 31, 2018). Subscribers will pick up their shares on either Saturdays (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) or Wednesdays (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM) each week.

How much does it cost? We offer four types of traditional subscriptions: Full Share, Partial Share, Full Volunteer Share, and Partial Volunteer Share. The cost of a Full Share is $1005 (less than $50/week). The cost of a Partial Share is $531 (about $25/week). The cost of a Full Volunteer Share is $905. The cost of a Partial Volunteer Share is $481. It is our intention to provide you with 10-20% more than the farmstand retail value of your share. We cannot offer pro-rated shares, but encourage you to send along a friend or neighbor if you are unable to make it to a pickup. There is also a Farmstand Credit alternative for $500. Read on for more details.

What if I want more choices regarding selection and pickup times? We understand that life is complicated and although you would love to support the farm by making an up front commitment, it may not be realistic for you to comply with all of the terms of the traditional CSA agreement. The Farmstand Credit option was designed with you in mind. $500 entitles you to $550 worth of food products at the farmstand (with the exception of Acabonac Farms beef). Farmstand Credit is subject to availability and must be used by the end of the 2018 farm season.

What is my volunteer commitment? If you sign up for a non-volunteer share, you have no volunteer commitment to fulfill (but we of course welcome you to volunteer should you desire). Full volunteer shares commit to 10 hours and partial volunteer shares commit to 5 hours. If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment by the end of the season, you will be billed for the difference in share cost.

New this year: Beef Share! This year we’re expanding our commitment to community supported agriculture by offering our members an exclusive Beef Share from Acabonac Farms. Now you can enjoy delicious locally sourced, grass-fed pastured beef alongside your fresh seasonal veggies all summer long.  Acabonac Farms shares our dedication to agricultural practices that promote environmental health and produces exceptional beef from strictly antibiotic and hormone free cattle that are exclusively raised and finished on untreated local grasses and legumes. Beef Shares will be available for pickup for subscribing members four times throughout the summer. Pickup dates include: June 16th, July 21st, August 18th and September 15th during the normal CSA pickup times of 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m at the Farmstand. The cost of the Beef Share is $640 for all four pickups.  Each pickup includes 2 pounds of premium steaks, 2 pounds of artisan burger patties, 3 pounds of ground beef and 1 pound of stir-fry strips. This is a special offer that cannot be found on the Acabonac Farms website. We are also pleased to offer Acabonac Farms’ beef for sale at our Farmstand this season and our farm receives a commission from Acabonac Farms for all associated sales.

Bread Share. We will also be offering breads from Blue Duck Bakery weekly in the form of a Bread Share add-on for $129. Signing up for a Bread Share guarantees you a loaf each week (pickup will be on Saturdays only) at roughly 10% off it's retail value. We will continue to sell a selection of Blue Duck Breads at the farmstand.
