Carrie Wood
Farmstand Retail Manager

Carrie received her bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University. She co-founded a landscape design/build firm in Central NY. She worked for Hick's Nursery in Westbury, NY in retail nursery sales, inventory management and marketing. Her family returned to live on Shelter Island full time in 2011. They started a small homestead, continuing a 35 year family tradition of growing and selling flowers on the Island.

As a fiber artist who works with wool, Carrie’s craft introduced her to Sylvester Manor at The Gatehouse, where some of her work was featured. She is excited to be back in her current role, where her love of plants, sustainable food, and artisan craft can merge. She looks forward to growing our Farmstand to fill a niche for local food and goods that Islanders and visitors can rely on.

Carrie coordinates the all-volunteer Shelter Island Food Pantry. Her husband Craig Wood is an Assessor for the Town of Shelter Island. They reside on the Island with their two children, daughter Audrey and son Owen.
