2019 CSA Terms & Conditions *
AMOUNT OF FOOD PER WEEK: Sylvester Manor Educational Farm will provide the CSA subscriber with a weekly share of produce, consisting of approximately 7-10 items for a full share. Partial shares will consist of slightly more than half the amount of a full share for that week. Shares will vary in size and weight depending on produce that is in season each week. Shares must be collected weekly.
ROLES: Sylvester Manor CSA subscribers agree to support the farm, the farmer and the farm crew by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, crop failure, etc.) and the rewards (fresh, organic vegetables, the bounty of a good season, etc.). The Sylvester Manor farm manager carefully plans for such contingencies by using growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize the risks, and optimize the rewards. In the event of a natural disaster, Sylvester Manor may postpone or cancel one or more weekly distributions in the interest of public safety and will make every effort to reschedule within the season.
INTENTIONS/GUARANTIES: It is Sylvester Manor’s hope that subscribers will get a wide variety of farm produce in plentiful amounts. I understand this principle and agree that there is no guaranty on the exact amount or type of produce I will receive in my share.
SUBSCRIBER OBLIGATIONS: PAYMENT AND PICK-UP: By becoming a subscriber, I agree to be timely with monetary payments. I commit to picking up my share(s) weekly and I understand that if I, or someone I designate, is unable to pick up my share(s) they can NOT be saved or picked-up at a later date. I am responsible for providing my own bags or boxes for use during pick-up. All shares must be picked up by the closing of the scheduled distribution day (11 am Saturdays or 6:30 pm Wednesdays).
VOLUNTEER HOURS: Unless I have signed up for a full-price share with no volunteer obligation, I agree to fulfill the required volunteer hours by the end of the CSA season (10 hours for full share, 5 hours for partial share). If I do not fulfill my volunteer obligation, if applicable, I will be billed for the hours I agree to volunteer for Sylvester Manor Educational Farm.
COMMUNICATIONS: I will take responsibility for being informed about CSA distributions by checking my email prior to pick-up dates. In the event my contact information changes, I will update the Sylvester Manor office. I understand that it is my responsibility to be an informed CSA subscriber.
SUBSCRIBER STATUS: I understand that should I share my produce with another, or have a non-subscriber pick up for me, that person will not have status as a CSA subscriber for renewal purposes. Prospective CSA subscribers must sign up on the waiting list. By checking the box below, I accept the above terms of the 2019 Sylvester Manor CSA agreement. All subscribers must also sign a hold harmless form available at first pickup.
